Three Rivers; April 6
We’ve spent 2 days at Three Rivers Petroglyph Site, New Mexico, a BLM maintained cultural site with a great small campground. We climbed the ridge above the campground to explore some of the over 21, 000 petroglyphs. I’ll let the pictures tell the story.

There are so many pictures, it's hard to concentrate on one. Notice the hand has 6 fingers, I wonder if the 6th was added after the original picture (as a joke maybe?).

Lots of animals are depicted.

Lots of animals are still around, besides this bunny we saw a collared lizard and many birds.

The geometric designs are more complex than at first glance. If you follow from any point along the line you'll see that it is one continuous line.

The original peace sign?

This stylized bighorn sheep appears to be pierced by three arrows.

We knew it was right up your alley, wish you were here to explain it all! We didn’t get to the nearby Mogollon village site, apparently there are a few habitations reconstructed. We couldn’t take Mavrik on the trails and ended up walking on the road (found a dead snake – right up my alley!).
