Feb. 15 – There’s Supposed to be a Road Here!

We braved the threat of 90+ degrees today and took a ride in the Jeepster. We paired up with some friends and drove around one end of the Cargo Muchacho mountains and into a valley on the back side of the range. I had been looking on the internet for routes that pass through the mountains and found only one map that showed BLM route 715 traversed the mountains on the south end of the range. We ended up on that route as we penetrated deeper into the valley. We came to an area where we had found pools of water several years ago, they were bone dry today!

The road sign indicated that route 715 continued over the hill and down this canyon. No it DIDN'T!

Hey guys remember us from the Read Earth Casino?

Have you had a chance to talk to Gary yet. He’s in the truck camper next to you. It’s a 90’s Dodge truck with a six pack camper. His girlfriends name is Zahra and he owns 5 acres outside of Grants Pass with our friend Russ. Ask him if Zahra is still traveling (she’s a physical therapist). She worked in Mesa, AZ 2 years ago and La Quinta , CA last year. Russ had been working on the mobile home on their property. Gary used to work for the state of CA in computer support for Cal Trans.

Walk up and start talking to him about any of this. There is little I enjoy more in life than messing with his mind. He’ll enjoy the company and has a great sense of humor.
