We tried every path we found to reach the ocean beach from Heceta Dunes Area, but again, you can’t get there from here! The alternating forest, pond and dune landscape created what looked like direct routes to the beach but invariably we entered thick brushy forests that might harbor bears and bobcats (and ticks too)!

Yikes! Not ticks! They’re supposed to be very bad this year so be careful on your outdoor hikes through woods and brush. Ok, so I guess it would be scary to cross paths with a bear or Mountain Lion too.
