The Water Line
Our first major project was getting water to our site on the property. We had to dig a trench 120 feet across the front of the property through the volcanic soil, tree roots and lava rock. We finally had to use three pieces of heavy equipment to complete the 2 week long dig. The ditch witch, rock hammer and excavator were great fun for Robert to operate!

It’s been a long time coming!
It’s been a long time since the last post, hopefully I’ll remember how to do this! We’ve been busy with all kinds of projects since we arrived back on our little acre. I’ll do a few short posts to give an idea of these projects and the little bit of recreation we’ve indulged in.

In June we visited our friends Dean & Wendy in The Dalles and Robert did a little sturgeon fishing with them. Fish on! Robert had an almost 8 foot sturgeon hooked before it deftly cut the line on submerged rocks! We floated a little section of the scenic John Day River. While Dean did all the work, we did all the sightseeing!
