Heceta, pronounced ‘ha-see-ta’. Named after the Spanish explorer Bruno de Heceta who explored the Pacific Northwest during the late 18th century.  I guess the Native American Siuslaw tribe name ItuwIs is too difficult!

The old town of Florence was ablaze with holiday lights on New Years Eve,  with a backdrop of the famous Siuslaw River bridge opened in 1936!
