March 6 – Oklahoma is OK
Because it’s NOT Texas! We made it through the panhandle of Texas and two thirds of Oklahoma before coming to rest at Okmulgee State Park for the night.

Today, Wednesday, we drove almost the complete widths of the states of Arizona and New Mexico! In between driving stints and naps I awoke to the beautiful rock formations behind the bright, bold advertisements near a rest area.
We started our trip east on Monday, March 3 in rain and snow flurries. We made it to Walker Lake, NV after dark to camp for the night. The next morning was bright and sunny as we drove the length of the state of Nevada.
On Feb. 26 we arrived in Bend after a loooooong 2 day drive from Borrego Springs, CA. We will embark on the second part of our winter journey soon, without the appendage trailer behind us. We are dropping off the trailer with the Jeepster so we can more efficiently travel to the east to visit friends and relatives. Meanwhile we are experiencing just a tiny bit of winter here!
Some friends met up with us out in the desert and we all went into town, Borrego Springs, to experience the nightlife ‘uptown’. We went to the old Hoberg Resort , now The Palms Hotel, for cocktails and had a grand time! They have a cute little gallery off the lobby and I experimented with my camera.
