Feb. 16 – More Palms
Many, many more palms. It may be called Dos Palmas, but there are hundreds of palms, and fresh, cool, running water! What an oasis in the desert! Mavrik was so happy to jump in the water!
A cool reflection on a hot afternoon!
Feb. 14 – Four Palms
Moving to the east a few miles we camped on a mesa overlooking Palm Canyon that drains the Santa Rosa mountains. We could see the tiny grove of palms down in the wash and we hiked to them this hot morning.
We found these round concretions around the tiny palm grove.
They look like bowling balls in the making!
Feb. 12 – From Coyote Mountain
An afternoon hike up on Coyote Mountain gave us a great view of the orchards and fields extending northwest up Coyote Canyon.
Lots of citrus; oranges, lemons and grapefruit, and groves of palms.
