Feb. 2 – Big Snow

We woke to a couple of inches of snow on the ground that virtually shut down the area. Don was busy plowing trails to get around the property.

The bird feeders were filled to help the feathered jewels survive the coming cold.

After all the work the boys went out to test the Bronco in the snow!!!

Jan. 28 – The Big Bird

Our friend Don took us to the Fayetteville, Arkansas airport to tour a large military plane on display. It was a beautiful sunny, blue sky day. We were suitable impressed with the size of the plane and the seeming competence of the youngsters (compared to us) who fly, maintain and guided us through it.

Organized

One of the projects around here is to organize the shop. It’s like trying to herd cats! At least I got one or two drawers of the tool box organized! My OCD is shining through!

One of the 3 drawers of sockets!

Meanwhile, the guys hang around the woodstove doing what guys do best!

Warm Fire for a Cool Evening

The burn pile was started up this afternoon, in anticipation of a few inches of snow tomorrow to dampen it down. It was welcome warmth in the cold northern breeze. The glow of the fire with the backdrop of a colorful sunset caught my eye.

On Thin Ice

On our Saturday drive we visited two of the many lakes in the area. This one still had a thin layer of ice that held the weight of this flock of geese. Several geese even flew in and made a slippery landing without breaking the ice!

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the road this tree was slowly devouring a metal sign!
