January 9, 2022 A New Route

We explored another road on the peninsula between King Slough and the Yaquina river. We came onto an area with a dock out into the slough and what looked like a defunct oyster farm.

A line of ‘grow out bags’ didn’t seem to have any oysters in them!

We continued on a faint path through a primordial fern forest.

The path petered out, so we bushwhacked through the ferns and emerged at Yakona Nature Preserve!

January 8, 2022 Waterfall

An exploratory trip along the Siletz river after a rainy spell gave us views of lots of beautiful waterfalls cascading down the forested slopes.

January 1, 2022

Happy New Year!!!! Although the last 2 years seem to have made us crawl into a hole (or burrow into our couches at home) this year will start with more optimistic vibes!!

A nice cubbyhole to crawl into if need be!

December 31, 2021 Ghost in a Jeep

Another watering hole, and an interesting reflection!

The reflection on the window makes it look like a ghost is sitting in the back seat of the Jeep outside! Why was he left behind?
