Those big trees DO fall in the forest! This one recently broke in a big wind storm. I say you might not have heard it over the sound of the howling winds!!
February 23, 2021 Back to Bend
We had to dash back to Bend for a day to pick up some paperwork. I took the opportunity to walk Jake, our neighbor’s dog. What a cutie, patiently waiting for a treat.

Revisiting those big trees on the Siltcoos Lake Trail. There were even bigger trees there back in the day (commercial logging began around the lake in 1875).

February 20, 2021 Sutton Creek
A beautiful day to explore Sutton Creek nearby. A campground, a trail through woods, dunes and over the creek, but you can’t get to an ocean beach from here! Just over the dunes in the background, no trail to there! It’s a good thing tho, it gives the western snowy plover a protected nesting area!
